Terms of Service
One contract for everything: the Prometheor app for Mac, the connector, your account and the AIs you connect. How we handle your data is in the Privacy policy.
New in version 5.2: a Free plan with no card needed (section 5), and the usage of Free and Pro in numbers instead of "unlimited" (section 7). Version 5.1 brought the Prometheor app for Mac (section 8) and a full refund if you withdraw within 14 days (section 13).
1Who we are and who these terms are for
Prometheor is a sole proprietorship owned by Kian Peters, Johann-Gottlieb-Fichte-Straße 9, 61118 Bad Vilbel, Germany, info@prometheor.com ("Prometheor", "we"). These terms apply to the Prometheor app for Mac (the "Mac app"), the connector at app.prometheor.com/mcp and your account at app.prometheor.com.
You can use Prometheor as a consumer or for your business if you are 18 or older and your billing address is in the European Union or the United States. Different or additional terms of yours do not apply.
2What Prometheor does
Prometheor connects AI apps you already use. An AI app you connect (a "connected AI", for example ChatGPT or Claude) can hand a task to another AI (an "agent"). An agent is either an app on a Mac where the Mac app runs (for example Codex, Claude Code, Cursor or T3 Code) or an AI you connected that works on its provider's servers (for example Grok Bot).
Prometheor passes the task on, shows its progress, returns the result and any result files to the AI that asked, and keeps a short logbook of decisions, status changes and results. Prometheor does not run its own AI model to do your tasks and does not sell access to AI. The work is done by the agents, with your own accounts and subscriptions at their providers.
A task can also start on a schedule you set, for example every morning (see section 8). For each connected AI you choose whether it can give tasks or is Read only.
3Apps from other providers
To use Prometheor you need your own accounts with the AI apps you connect. Their terms, prices, usage limits and privacy rules apply in addition to these terms and are not part of the Prometheor price. You are responsible for following them.
We do not control those apps. If a provider changes or stops a feature that Prometheor relies on, a connection may stop working. We tell you if a supported app can no longer be used and work on an alternative, but we cannot guarantee that every app stays supported.
4Your account
Keep your sign-in details secure and use your account only for yourself. You are responsible for what the AI apps and Macs you connect do through your account, including tasks they hand out on your behalf and tasks that start on a schedule you set. Tell us at once at info@prometheor.com if you suspect misuse.
5Plan and price
- Free
- No charge and no payment method; limited usage on one Mac with two agent apps (section 7)
- Pro
- Everything included: 100 times the usage of Free, schedules, chains of tasks between AIs and AIs that work on their provider's servers (section 7)
- Pro monthly
- USD 15 per month
- Pro yearly
- USD 144 per year
- Founding offer
- The first 100 yearly customers pay USD 99 for their first year; later years at the yearly price
- In euro countries
- The checkout shows and charges EUR 15 per month, EUR 144 per year or EUR 99 for the founding offer
- Tax
- Final prices. As a small business under Section 19 of the German VAT Act (UStG), no VAT is charged.
The price is the same everywhere; our website shows it in US dollars. Payment is through Stripe, by card, Apple Pay or another method the checkout offers, in advance for each billing period. Invoices are on your account page under Plan. Outside euro countries Stripe may show the USD price in your local currency at its own exchange rate; you can pay in USD instead.
6Pro trial
New customers can try Pro free for 7 days, once per customer. A payment method, such as Apple Pay or a card, is needed to start. Nothing is charged during the trial, and we email you 2 days before it ends. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the plan you chose starts and its first period is charged. If you cancel, your account continues on Free.
7Usage of Free and Pro
Free: 20 successful tasks a calendar month (UTC) on one Mac with up to two agent apps, the first ones you use that month. Tasks that fail, expire or are cancelled do not count. Schedules, chains of tasks between AIs and AIs that work on their provider's servers are part of Pro. When the month's tasks are used, new tasks wait for the next month or for Pro; your account page shows when they start again.
Pro: up to 2,000 tasks in any 24 hours, again not counting tasks that fail or are cancelled. That is 100 times the Free month every day, which is what "100× the usage of Free" means. Technical limits also apply against abuse and runaway automation, for example how many tasks run or wait at once and how many scheduled tasks you keep. If your use puts the service at risk, we contact you before we limit it, unless we must act at once to contain a security risk.
In both plans the AI work itself runs on your own accounts at the providers, under their usage limits (section 3).
8Prometheor for Mac
What the Mac app is
The Mac app connects your Mac to your Prometheor account. It lives in the menu bar, starts with your Mac, receives tasks for it, starts each one in the agent app you or your AI chose (today Codex, Claude Code, Cursor or T3 Code) and sends progress, results and result files back. It shows what needs you and what is running. It does not watch your screen and does not control your mouse or keyboard.
The Mac app does this work itself, in the background. It is one app; you do not install anything else.
Setting it up
Setup is one window with three steps: sign in to your account, connect your AI apps, and let this Mac work. Sign-in, and moving to Pro, happen in your browser, which the Mac app opens for you. For each agent app the Mac app shows whether it is installed and signed in, which plan it uses and its version, and offers Update now when an app is older than Prometheor needs. Update now gets the update from that app's provider; the app stays software of its provider, under its terms.
What tasks can do on your Mac
The agent apps are AI agents. Depending on the permissions you set in each app, they can read and change files, run commands, use the browser or computer use, and act in accounts you are signed in to. The Mac app starts them with those settings; Prometheor does not widen them.
- Tasks run in the folder Prometheor/Projects in your home folder unless a task names another folder.
- Only AI apps connected to your own account, switched on and allowed to give tasks can send tasks to your Mac.
- Every task runs visibly in the app's own chat. You can read along, take over or stop it there.
- If your Mac is asleep or offline, a task waits safely for up to 24 hours and starts when the Mac is back; after that it ends without a result.
- Prometheor asks every agent to name, in its report, any step with an effect outside the task folder, such as push, deploy, publish, send, install or pay. Prometheor does not block such steps; whether an agent may take them depends on the permissions you set in that app.
If you allow an agent app full access to your Mac, a task can do anything you could do on it. Set up only Macs where that is acceptable to you, and choose app permissions you are comfortable with.
Permissions for each AI
Each connected AI can give tasks unless you set it to Read only. An AI set to Read only can see tasks, their status and results, but cannot give tasks, write to a running task, or stop or accept one. You see the setting in the Mac app and change it on your account page. It stays with the connection until you disconnect that AI. Switch an AI off and it can do neither.
Scheduled tasks
You can ask an AI or use the Mac app to run a task at set times, for example every morning. A scheduled task runs like a task you start yourself, with the same app permissions, until you pause or delete the schedule. If your Mac is asleep at that time, the task waits like any other task. A run that would start more than 6 hours late is skipped, and so is a run while the previous one has not finished.
Report a problem
If something does not work, Report a problem in the Mac app starts a task in an agent app on your Mac (Claude Code or Codex). The agent reads the Mac app's status and logs on your Mac and tells you what is wrong and how to fix it. Like any task, what the agent reads is processed by that app and its provider. The logs are sent to us only if you send them yourself.
What you agree to when you set up a Mac
When you let a Mac work you confirm that you may use it and that tasks from your connected AIs may start agent apps on it as described in this section. Set up only Macs you own or are allowed to use for this, and remember that other people using the Mac can see the work.
What stays on your Mac
Logins, passwords, API keys and tokens of your agent apps stay on your Mac or with the app's provider. The Mac app never sends them to Prometheor and replaces anything that looks like a secret in progress notes before they leave your Mac. The account, plan and version of each agent app, the Mac app's status file and its logs stay on your Mac too. Result files are handed back only from the task folder, never from hidden files or folders.
What the Mac app sends to Prometheor
- The Mac's name, which you can change
- Which agent apps are installed and whether they are signed in
- Whether the Mac app is online, and its version
- Progress steps, questions, the result summary and result files of each task
How to stop it
- Tell any connected AI that can give tasks stop everything. Every running task ends.
- Switch an AI off in the Mac app, or quit the Mac app. Nothing new starts.
- Remove the Mac in the Mac app or on your account page. Its access ends at once.
- To uninstall, quit the Mac app and move it to the Trash.
Where the Mac app comes from
Download the Mac app only with the Download for Mac button on prometheor.com; the file comes from app.prometheor.com. It needs macOS 13 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. It is signed with the Apple Developer ID of Kian Oliver Peters and notarized by Apple, so macOS checks that it comes from us and was not changed. The Mac app brings everything it needs with it and replaces an installed version only with a newer one from its own package.
If you set up a Mac with the Terminal command instead, Prometheor comes from app.prometheor.com only; the command also loads a fixed version of Node.js from nodejs.org and checks it against a stored checksum. Check that the address is exactly app.prometheor.com before you run it.
Update now updates an agent app from its own provider (for example Codex through npm), not from us.
9AIs that work on their provider's servers
You connect the AI to Prometheor with the connector, like any other AI app. If the AI supports it, it gives Prometheor a wake address and a signing key. When a task waits for that AI, we send a short signed signal to that address. The signal says only that work is waiting and carries no task content. The AI then fetches the task through its own sign-in.
We store the wake address and its key, the key encrypted, and use them only for this signal. They are removed when you disconnect the AI or remove it in the Mac app. If the provider removes or changes the address, waking stops and the AI picks up tasks only when it checks in.
When such an AI works on a task, the task, any files passed to it and the results it writes are processed by its provider under that provider's own terms and privacy policy. The provider is a separate controller, not our processor, and may process data outside the EU. Hand a task to such an AI only if you are fine with that provider seeing it.
Usage limits, prices and regional availability of the AI are set by its provider. Some wake features are not offered in every country.
10Your content and the results
Your tasks, files, logbook entries and results stay yours. You give us the right to store, transmit and display them only as far as needed to provide Prometheor to you. We do not use them to train AI models and we do not sell them.
Results come from AI models and can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable. Check them before you rely on them or let them act outside your Mac. Prometheor is not legal, medical, tax or financial advice.
11Acceptable use
You may not use Prometheor, or your AI apps through Prometheor, for the following:
- Anything illegal, or helping someone else break the law
- Accessing accounts, computers or data you are not authorized to use
- Sending spam or bulk messages people did not ask for
- Harassing, deceiving or impersonating people
- Creating malware or attacking systems, including probing Prometheor or other accounts
- Getting around security measures or usage limits of Prometheor or of other providers
- Breaking the usage policies of the AI apps you connect
- Letting AI make decisions with legal or similarly significant effect on people without human review, for example on credit, jobs or health
- Processing other people's sensitive data (health, religion, political views and similar) without a legal basis
- Sharing or reselling your account, or running tasks for third parties as a service
- Loops, schedules or other automation that put the service at risk
If we see a breach we may stop affected tasks and, where needed, suspend your account. We tell you why, unless the law forbids it. Report abuse to info@prometheor.com.
12Term, renewal and cancellation
The monthly plan renews every month and the yearly plan every year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time with effect at the end of the current period; you keep access until then and are not charged again. If you are a consumer, after the first year a yearly plan continues for an indefinite period and you can cancel it at any time with one month's notice; we refund the unused part of the prepaid year.
Cancel on your account page under Plan (the Mac app menu takes you there), with the Cancel contracts here button, or by email. You receive a confirmation with the date and time we received it. Both sides may cancel for good cause without notice.
13Right of withdrawal
Consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the day they sign up. If you withdraw within that time, we refund everything you paid; you pay nothing for the days you used. The instructions and the model form are on Withdrawal and cancellation.
14Availability and changes to the service
There is no uptime service-level agreement. We develop Prometheor continuously and may change features if the core service stays the same and the change is reasonable for you. We announce changes that affect you noticeably in good time.
15Warranty
Statutory warranty rights apply, including the rights of consumers for digital services. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that AI results are complete or correct.
16Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under a guarantee and under mandatory product-liability law. For slight negligence we are liable only for breaching essential contractual duties (duties whose fulfilment makes the contract possible and on which you may rely), limited to the typical and foreseeable damage. Otherwise our liability for slight negligence is excluded.
Agents act on your instruction, with the accounts and permissions you gave them. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for what an agent does because of how you or your connected AIs worded a task or set its permissions. You remain responsible for backups of your data.
17Suspension and termination
We may suspend access without notice only where needed to contain a security, abuse or legal risk, and we tell you why. When the contract ends or you delete your account, your content is deleted as described in the Privacy policy.
18Changes to these terms and prices
We may change these terms or prices for the future. We tell you at least six weeks before a change takes effect, and you can cancel before then. A price change never applies to a period you already paid for.
19Governing law and disputes
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection of the country where you live remains unaffected. For business customers, courts at our seat have jurisdiction. We do not take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board and are not obliged to.
